RuckMaxxRucking tracker & coach for iPhone
GPS tracking built for weighted walks, and a coach that sets your load
Distance, pace, and elevation, plus the number other apps ignore: your load. A 35 lb ruck gets counted as a 35 lb ruck, and the coach plans next week from what you actually carried.
What it does
Built for one job. It does that job well.
Track the ruck, not just the walk
Distance, pace, elevation, and time, plus the weight on your back. Background GPS keeps recording when your phone is locked in a pocket.
Calories that count the load
Burn is computed with the Pandolf equation, the military research standard for load carriage, so a heavy ruck isn't scored like a stroll.
A coach that knows the load
Answer a few questions and RuckMaxx plans your week: how many rucks, how far, how heavy. Load climbs about 7.5% a week with a deload every fourth.
Adjusts to what you did
Beat the plan or miss a week and the next targets recalculate from your real sessions. You won't be pushed into a jump you didn't earn.
Streaks, grid, and PRs
A 12-week consistency grid plus records for longest ruck, heaviest load, and fastest mile. Weekly ruck work (distance × load) shows real progress.
Apple Health sync
Every ruck saves to Apple Health as a workout, calories included.

Your routes stay yours
RuckMaxx doesn't need an account to track a ruck. Your routes and sessions stay on your iPhone and in Apple Health, and purchases go through Apple.
FAQ
Straight answers.
What is rucking?
Walking with weight on your back, usually a weighted vest or a loaded ruck. It builds strength, endurance, and posture without the joint pounding of running.
How does RuckMaxx calculate calories?
It uses the Pandolf equation, which factors in body weight, load, speed, and grade. Standard walking formulas ignore the load, so they undercount a real ruck.
How much weight should I start with?
Pick your level and goal during setup and the coach proposes a starting load. Many people start with 10–20 lb. The plan progresses gradually and schedules a deload every fourth week.
Does it work with Apple Health?
Yes. Each completed ruck is written to Apple Health as a workout with its calories.
How much does it cost?
RuckMaxx Pro is $9.99 per month or $49.99 per year, and the yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial. It renews automatically until you cancel in your App Store account settings.
