Mog Lab

Your face isn't the problem. The photo might be

An AI face analysis and looksmaxxing app for iPhone. Run a scan, get your Mog Score, and see what the frame is costing you — angle, lighting, crop, expression. Mog Lab separates how you actually read from how your current photo reads.

What it does

Built for one job. It does that job well.

01

One scan, four layers

Every scan returns a layered result: Mog Score, Face Read, Photo Drag, and Max Potential. The point is the gap — when your face reads stronger than the photo you're using, you see it, and by how much.

02

The 8-part appearance read

Skin clarity, grooming, Golden Ratio / Phi, lower third, posture, style, expression, and photo frame — scored separately, so you know what's a habit and what's just a bad frame.

03

Fast fixes vs. real work

The full breakdown splits what you can fix tonight — angle, lighting, crop — from the slower stuff: grooming, posture, skin habits. No vague advice, just where the points are.

04

A profile built on outcomes

Six questions set your goal, what you've tried, timeline, weak point, and commitment level. The read is calibrated to what you're actually trying to change, not a generic rating.

05

Pro: the 6-week plan

Pro unlocks the full breakdown, a 6-week plan with weekly reminders and progress targets, unlimited retakes, your personal best frame history, and Max Potential Preview.

06

Local scan if you want it

Photo upload is optional and requested in-app before anything is sent. Choose local scan only and your photo is analyzed on-device.

Nothing leaves your phone without a tap

Photo upload is optional and always requested in-app before anything is sent — choose local scan only and your photo is analyzed on-device. If you opt into the AI read, the selected photo and its local pixel evidence are sent to Mog Lab and OpenAI only to generate your requested scan result. The app requests no App Tracking Transparency permission and uses no IDFA.

FAQ

Straight answers.

What is looksmaxxing?

Looksmaxxing is the practice of systematically improving your appearance — grooming, skincare, hair, posture, body composition, style, and how you photograph. It's usually split into softmaxxing (reversible, low-cost changes like haircut, skincare routine, posture, better photos) and hardmaxxing (permanent interventions). Mog Lab is a softmaxxing tool: it scores where you currently stand across eight areas and tells you which changes move the number most, starting with the ones you can do tonight.

What do facial thirds and the Golden Ratio actually measure?

Facial thirds divide the face into three horizontal bands — hairline to brow, brow to base of nose, and nose to chin — and roughly equal bands tend to read as balanced. The lower third (nose to chin) carries jaw and chin definition, which is why it gets the most attention. The Golden Ratio, or Phi (~1.618), is applied to proportions like face length against width. Both are descriptive conventions, not laws of attractiveness — Mog Lab reports them as a couple of inputs among eight, which is why the score isn't a single verdict on your face.

How does AI face analysis work?

The scan locates facial landmarks — eye corners, nose base, jaw points, hairline — and derives measurements from them: proportions between thirds, symmetry, jaw angle, and separately image-level properties like lighting direction, focal distortion, and crop. Mog Lab keeps those two groups apart on purpose. Landmark geometry describes your face; image properties describe your photo. Splitting them is what produces the Face Read versus Photo Drag comparison.

Is this just a beauty rating?

No — the point is the split. The read covers eight areas including frame, posture, expression, and grooming, and separates fast photo fixes from longer-term habits. You leave with specific changes, not a single number.

Is Mog Lab free?

Free to download — you can run a scan and get your Mog Score without paying. Mog Lab Pro unlocks the full 8-part breakdown, the 6-week plan, unlimited retakes, best frame history, and Max Potential Preview. Pricing is localized, so the amount in your country may differ.

Does my photo leave my phone?

Only if you say so. Upload is optional and requested in-app before anything is sent — choose local scan only and analysis happens on-device. If you opt into the AI photo read, the selected photo and its local pixel evidence go to Mog Lab and OpenAI solely to generate your scan result.

What is Max Potential Preview?

A Pro feature: an optional AI-edited presentation concept showing a stronger version of your current photo. It only generates when you explicitly tap Generate Preview, and it is not a guaranteed future self, a surgery claim, or a different person.

Does the app track me across other apps?

No. Mog Lab does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use IDFA. First-party analytics run through PostHog; ad attribution and purchases stay privacy-scoped through AppsFlyer, Apple, and RevenueCat.

Who is this actually for?

Anyone whose photos carry weight — dating profiles, headshots, social. If you've ever suspected you look better in person than in pictures, the Face Read vs. Photo Drag split tells you whether you're right.
